i have my 97 ek i love this car but i love how sun roofs look way better then moon roofs is there any way i can convert it from a moon roof to a sun roof? and if there is any shops that can do this can u plz let me know

 

are you serious..? a sun roof is the same as a moon roof..
but maybe im wrong..

typicaly one is glass the other is metal I just for the lfe of me can't remember which is which

 

If you don't like the transparent glass .... paint it?

a moon roof is metal and a sun roof is glass, i think all 96-00 civics that had them oem were sun roofs so maby your is aftermarket

 

u could get a sir roof comes with factory sunroof

You have that backwards.

Moonroof = glass. Sunroof = metal.

Heck I do it faster and more then oil changes.

 

a moon roof goes inside so it looks like you just have a hole on the roof..............while a sun roof slides out so everyone can see the glass when its fully open! eg's and dc2 has sunroof while ek's have moon roofs

No, that is not at all true. It may be what you want to do, but that doesn't make it true.

 

No that is true, moonroof goes back into the roof and is not visable when open.. Sunroof goes back ontop of the roof where it is visible when its open.

No, that is not true at all. A sunroof is ANY type of sliding roof panel. Doesn't matter if it slides over, in, upside down, or does a [freak]ing cartwheel. A moonroof is a special type of sunroof that happens to be made of (often tinted) glass.

What you schmucks think is a "sunroof" is a spoiler-type sunroof. What you think is a "moonroof" is an inbuilt-type.

thank you for this thread.. i can't believe this is happening. take your car to a shop, and tell them. purchase the parts for it, and have them install it. why would you ask people such a question? i mean honestly... someone lock this thread so it never comes back up please!

 

just cut the whole roof off. you'll be able to see the sun and the moon when the time is right.
