so i got the chance to polish this beautiful paint job the night before the magazine shoot, i gotta say the body shop that finished this car did a great job in making my work easy.. there was roughly 99.5% no orange peel anywhere.. just a smooth surface to work with.. not many pics in this one as time was somewhat of a factor.. but i did manage to snap a couple..
this is all i was dealing with.. minor swirling

passenger side polished, no wax yet

after wax

bada bing! .. glad the shoot went well, go pick up a copy of this magazine..

im far from a professional, this is just a hobby for me..
i actually used a Flex dual action.. most people use the porter cable, but i used that for around a year, and although its very easy to use, i needed something with a little more power.. off the shelf products? hmm.. i really wouldnt know because i dont know of many off the shelf products that are abrasive enough to really work.. i use menzerna polishes, and top notch carnuba waxes like swissvax and victoria wax..
i would imagine 3M probably makes something off the shelf that would produce great results.. its all in the polishing.. if you have a polish that works, and can remove the swirls, picking a good wax to top it off is all you really have to worry about next..
