Default Speedometer cable

I was doing an engine swap from a d16a6 to a zc sohc and I think Im having trouble getting the speedo to work. My question is how much of the cable should be sticking in the cluster for it to work, and how exactly It works I've never jacked with one before and I've looked everywhere and can find no information about the cable into the cluster. The photo may help but its sticking out about .5 inch and I have a 91 honda civic hatch . Any help would be greatly appreciated

Default Re: Speedometer cable (johnnyonth3spot)

I have answered my own question, it seems like the required length exposed is .75 to 1. I hope this is useful to someone. Also if your cable is shorter then 34.75 your cable is broken
