ZC and D16A6 the same?
ok i got a dohc ZC and im about to rebuild my d16a6 to put in my 88 crx. But i was wondering if these blocks were the same , i know the sohc ZC are suppose to be the same but didnt know about the DOHC. i wouldnt think there would be a difference, i would think a zc block was a zc block. but figure id ask u guys, thanks jt
DOHC ZC blocks are not the same as SOHC ZC or D16A6 blocks - head bolt holes in different locations - DOHC uses 11mm head bolts and SOHC uses 10mm head bolts - all of the DOHC ZC internals (except pistons) from the top of the block down are the same as the D16A6 - same crankshaft, oil pump, rods, water pump, timing belt tensioner, etc.

hes right ! i was talking about performce wise i said nuttin about aprts being the same, the dohc zc is nuttun more then a sohc with an extra cam. i would go with the sohc more support.
only real diiferance is the two are the topend!the dohc shares more of the teg parts and the sohc zc and a6 share the same parts.
