Honda Civic Fuel injected 1998 hatch - Engine revving at idle
My daughter has a problem with the engine revving after it is warmed up. Sometimes it is ok and revs at lower rpm as expected. At other times the rpm rises and falls continuously. Most annoying when you are sitting at the lights. She can overcome the problem by easing out the clutch to drop the revs at idle. Several mechanics including Honda agent, have said its probably the CPU (computer)and will cost at least $1000 to fix. She is a student and does not have the money.
Any ideas? Could it nbe the MAP sensor? Or some other sensor? Or is it the CPU?
