loosing tach signal

so every now and then my cars rpm jumps all over the place, even after replacing ICM, coil, cap, rotor.. what do u think it could be......is there anyother sensor that sends the tach signal to the ICM.....cause if it comes down to it im gonna replace the distributer and i dont wanna buy a part i dont need

so my ICM just **** the bed again

would a loose connection cause my ICM to **** the bed. cause im using my friends till his cars running and it works fine.

i thought the ingnitor was the ICM. cause i already replaced the coil ICM, cap rotor plugs and wires
