Well thats a bad way to know.

There is an engine code on the block

H22a1 is 190hp
H22a is 200hp
H22a4 is 217hp

A blue mark on the head looks like it might help.
Transmission it's bolted to, blue cams under the valve cover, later year of manufacture, all ATTS JDM blocks were 220ps I think?

no way. Vavle covers and all that crap can be painted with greatest of ease.
I would not look at a valve cover and take a guess at what it might be in power when there is an engine code right on the block, would you?

The OP asks a very valid and not immediately easy to answer question.

More specific to some 220PS engines than others (ie there are 220PS motors that DON'T fulfill this criteria)

No PS or bracket, single belt crank pulley, type-R style single runner IM, distributor with no RPM output wire.

Good that you check your notes only after you've been called out on something.

actually all JDM engines hp ratings are in PS...metric horsepower, so a 200 "hp" jdm engine is really a 200 ps engine making 197 hp in standard terms.

And while we're picking out errors I wouldn't associate the H22A8 with the H22A4. The H22A5, though, is fair game.

Error Tool, Lol.

Well this tool has come a long way. I couldnt even change my oil before my join date here. Now I am working on a Fleet Of Diesel Trucks, and have my little Axid Works Team.

Pretty Proud of that. Not that anyone cares, lol.
