Need Stopper Advice...
So I was driving my girl home tonite and I roll up to a stoplight next to this Accord "Type R" w/ Jun and AEM stickers all over and blue headlights. After the light turned it took him a while to notice me as I was driving alongside, seeing as I look stock minus tint and clears...
We ran a few times, the first time I barely beat him and the second, I lost by a car and half.
After the second race, when we were pulling up to a red light, I realized my brakes suck ***... it took me FAR too long to stop, to the point that I was scared for me and my girl (I know I shouldn't have been racing with her in the car anyways, but she was laughing the whole way). And this is with the stock D16 mind you, I'm upgrading to a B16a2 soon. Also, I have a nice $500 body quote thanks to some ebrake issues that I'd rather not go into....
My question is, what can I do to improve braking power? I know squat about brakes... What should I look for thats the best stopping power for the money? Or should I just get my stock brakes looked at for now? My brakes don't work as well as I want, and my ebrake won't hold my car for ****, and I park on a hill...
Thanks in advance.

New brake pads + better tires + ss braided lines.
Tires will probably make the most difference.
IMO...street racing
. But I'm not your mother.
Or am I?
Either way, drive safe!

Yea. So you suggest I upgrade my brakes right now instead of buying a new setup? I can get new pads for fairly cheap, can't I? Or would it be worth it to buy a WHOLE new setup since I'm eventually planning to run a decent amount of power, or at least more than the Si's meager 125hp? The tires on my car are fairly new, one of em is on backwards, I just found that out the other day, hah!
I suppose I should upgrade suspension/brakes/rim+tires before I go through with this swap.
Any other opinions?
The tires being new has little to do with it. Depending on where you live, you might want to invest in a high performance summer tire (different compound) ...they'll pull double duty by helping you brake faster and increasing traction (decreasing 0-60ft times)
New brake pads are cheap. Everyone has their favorites, I'd go with either OEM or Metal Masters.
Regarding doing suspension/braking/rim+tires before the swap, I'd say it's more preference than necessity. It depends on what you like more, driving fast or driving in circles.
Getting a swap leans more towards commitment. If you have a fairly new car, a refreshed brake system + new tires should hold up fine after a swap. If your current setup is OK, you shouldn't need new suspension to handle a motor swap.

I'll be autcorssing this car as much as I race it though, so that is important to me. But yea, I see its my choice. Thanks ALOT for the help bro, I appreciate it.
