i just passed 84k on my 5th gen and it started making this screeching sound when i drive from a dead stop in 1st...and sometimes in 2nd and 3rd. it used to be faint but now it happens more often...like 2/3 dead stops o_o what could it be? tranny or clutch?

 

possibly your throw out bearing...whens the last time your replaced the clutch?

 

i agree that its the throw out bearing...when u sit in traffic or at a stop light do u sit with the clutch pedal depressed??
