How to identify itr trans from the inside?
im in the market for an itr trans, and i just want to make sure i get an actuall itr trans, in good working condition, so i want to be able to check out the internals first, i know the markings to look for on the outside
what are the things i need to look for on the inside, like can i count the teeth on the gears or are there markings on the gears that identify them as itr
what kind of things can i look for to identify it as an actual itr trans with itr gears, i have a good friend that works as a tech for honda that said hed go with to look at it with me, so he can tell if everything is in perfect conditon, but he doesnt know how to tell if its really itr gears an such
thanks for any info

i was going to crack the case open to inspect things, to make sure its in perfect working condition, not going to disassemble anything
well a good indicator on whether or not the trans is legit (as far as gears go) is if the casing has ever been OPENED before.
other than that, there isnt really anything you can do aside from counting teeth on gears and calculating ratios (which youd be insane to try to do)
just make sure it has an LSD and doesnt look like its ever been opened.
