Default need help picking a muffler

right now i have a b16 with 2.25" pipe no cat and a flowmaster 80 series muffler. i think it sounds like ***. lots of high pitch rassp. sounds like a pissed of dirtbike.

now i don't know what brands are good or what they would sound like.
i want some thing free flowing with a nice deep tone, still loud but with less rassp, im thinking the can muffler at the end of the pipe with 4 inch out would be good. allso i would like to spend 70 to 100 dollars.

any sound clips or just descriptions of what you run would be appretiated.

You might not need a muffler... think resonator. I had my exhaust done with 2.25 and removed the resonator. Damn it was loud. So back to the shop I went and got a 18" resonator...Wait, I wanted to hear something. It made it as quiet as a stock system. So I had him remove the 18 and got a 12 put on.

I am very happy with it. Nice low tone, add my Monza tip. Bingo that is how it should sound.

Absolutely I have a cat, one at home and one under the car. It's an aftermarket repl cat under the car. Ha Ha

At WOT it is noticable enough that I still short shift for the police if that is what you mean. I also have a DC sports header w/2.5 collector and the cat has a 2.5 opening at both ends.

So far I have had lot's of compliments on how it sounds even from the corvette guy's.
