well i am thinking about selling my current 95 ls and getting an 01 itr, its black and has i/e with a little over 100k on it
my car is 340whp built b16 in a 95 ls thats redone, i have koni/gc and what i feel is a great car
what would you all do? is it worth it to switch over, i know financially resale value will be more and will keep steady compared to my car, but by all means i feel my car is better in every aspect except for brakes and interior

my current car
and the 01 is NBP with rota slipstreams with brand new tires, compression on motor is good with slight consumption issues *no big deal as i would probably do k-swap or atleast a stock rebuild*

Why don't you simply upgrade your brakes and interior and then you'll have a car that is superior to an ITR in every way.

i would say if you had a stock ls motor in it then sell it and go for it but you got the 97 look going why not throw 5 lug on it and make it into a look a like that has a nice turbo motor in it

its a great deal on the 01, needs a lil tlc but wont be a problem for me, the itr is a car ive always wanted, but the insurance kind of scares me, im not really worried about theft with it anymore then i am my current car
basically it would be to get a car ive wanted since ive been in the honda scene, my common sense tells me its not worth it, yet the purist in me wants a true itr incredibly bad

Pick it up. I was in the same boat. Always wanted an R. Had an opportunity and I took it.

i have a feeling thats what i will do if insurance isnt too outrageous, i mean basically i would put the itr 5 lug and itr interior into my car, what would be the point of that when i could start over with a newer car and have all that good stuff to begin with

well insurance wasn't too bad, basically doubled the price that i pay for the ls but its still reasonable at under 100 dollars every month
guess i will see if my teg sells and go from there

aint a tight car if it aint a type r...
and if it aint a type r then it aint a tight car
no matter how you look at it, the itr will have a higher resale value, it's newer, better platform for power, has LSD which i love, and a stiffer frame, not just better suspension and brakes.
your car is nice, but the ITR is sexier/better and you know it

ha ha this is what i dont want to become, an elitest, i love the type r for what it is and no more, compared to my car i would honestly say that only the brakes and interior are better (along with resale value) although it can be much better in terms of age etc and general platform
going to testdrive it sometime this next week and going from that

Fulfill your High School Dream. GET THE R! You'll never look back. JUST MAKE SURE YOUR SECURITY FOR IT IS TIGHT!
Its not always about the horse power. But just everything about the car. The design, quality and build. The minor details that just makes it distinct. The 5 lug....amber light gauges...8.5 Redline high revving engine....sound of vtec kicking in.
Sure theres going to be faster cars. But something about the R just makes it awesome. You can't substitute it. It's just not the same. LOL
As you can tell the R was one of my dream car as a kid.
