Jackson Racing Supercharger
I've been going to track days (road courses) a couple times a year and autoxing, and now I would like to install a S/C on a stock Si motor. Anyone have experience with JRs S/C (on a D16A6 or any Honda engine from that era)?
I was concerned about engine reliabilty and even how well the S/C kit will hold up when used hard at the track. My brother-in-law has an Integra Type-R with a JR S/C. Right after he bought it he took it out for a track day and the compressor wore out. Don't know how many miles were on it, what the previous owner may have done to it, or the condition it was in when he bought the car. He had the compressor rebuilt, but has not taken the car back to the track since.

I had a stock JRSC on my last Civic Wagon with a Kamikaze header, 2.5" exhaust, and a intake, and for the 30-40k miles I owned the car it was dead nuts reliable with great torque and linear power. It was really a lot of fun.
As long as you start out with a good condition kit and your engine is in good condition there should be no problems. I have been running mine at 10 psi for a couple years now still on the original belt and no problems at all!!

I have been running a brand new JRSC on my Civic hatch for over a year with all the stock Fuel managment, and a rebuilt stock D16A6.
The kit is a lot of fun, although as everyone will tell you, the stock managment sucks.
However, even though I do have to mix 91 and 93 together to get 93 to avoid ping, the car is a blast to drive.
If you are looking for top speed and drag racing is your thing, the JRSC is not really for you. Its easier to be a top speed car with a turbo setup for sure. If general driving, canyon runs and such is what you enjoy, then the JRSC is a great add on.
