OT: New ITR Big Brother
so should i stay away from Nissan and the GTR and wait a year or two?
its already at the docks in here in Honolulu harbor waiting for the official release date.
whatever the case, if the next NSX doesnt give the GTR atleast a hard-rub, then whats the point? should be exciting to say the least...plus i can imagine what Spoon and Mugen would do to the car

front engine? ridiculous.
edit - hope they dont call it an nsx if its going to be a front engine....
reminds me of a lot of other cars, the design. if its running 7:37 at the ring, that is amazing, but the looks of the car... ugh. cut and paste from other designs it looks like.

Looks a lot like the Toyota and Z car variants. It may be a great car, but it's NOT an NSX. Very interested to see what they do with it though.
<---thinks it should be available in that color scheme
edit: also.....fack AWD!!!!

Dont knock front engine cars. Look at the 599GTB. Maybe this car is geared for more luxury performance (like the Bugatti) as opposed to the raw NSX that we all know of.

no one is knocking front engine cars, but that's not an NSX. Just like integras do not have mac struts

well, they better not call it an NSX if they go this route. Talk about upsetting the entire existing NSX community. Call it something else, sure, but to me, that car up there that is described in that article IS NOT very honda... its very (as Erik said) Lexus/Toyota + Nissan. Just IMO.
With that ring lap time, they are shooting for that supercar range. And those Japanese Supercars are always in that $80-100k range, so right here we are at least at the bare minimum talking about a direct replacement both performance and price wise for the NSX. And with that comes a lot of expectations probably, some fair, some not.
I just hope they put a little honda into it... you know, a driver's car. Not a numb overpowered boxy thing.
(If they want a luxury performance supercar, thats a whole 'nother price point, and a price point that I don't think would fit Honda (as in, who is going to pay 200k+ for a car branded 'honda' that is aimed at ferrari/bugatti/aston, etc.)

I guess I'm boring and thought the car would more closely resemble this concept we all saw and appeared to love back then...

I agree with the others, that car isn't an NSX, even if the badge says it is.
Honda is sadly moving away from what made them great to be just like Nissan and Toyota.
Thank god Lotus still believes that lightweight, simple, FUN TO DRIVE, and very involving cars are still the way to go instead of this high HP, heavy, bloated ***, numb feeling crap coming out of manufacturing plants these days.
It's easy to make a car fast, not as easy to make a car a truely great drivers car.

it is if you stick with what you know and do best and don't follow everyone else's formula....
