07 Accord a/c comes on by it self?
I know in my other hondas when you select the “defrost-front-glass” setting regardless of temperature setting the a/c light comes on. (which you can de-select by pressing the a/c button again)
But in my sister’s new 2007 accord, the a/c light does NOT come on by itself when you select the “defrost-front-glass” or “defrost-front-glass and foot.” I believe I can hear the a/c kicking in every time I select any of the defrost settings.
My question is:
1) does the a/c come on automatically whenever you select any of the front defroster options, regardless of the settings of the temperature ****.
2) is there a way to select any of the front defroster options without having the a/c being turned on?
I know its really no big deal, but its just one of those little things that bug me, I hate anything that comes on automatically!!!
Anybody with a 07 accord know anything about this topic? Please leave a msg, thanks in advance

thanks for the reply....
actually i had the heat blowing full blast, somehow i believe that the a/c comes on regardless of the temperature setting. It just comes on whenever any of the front defroster functions are selected.
Just to make sure, i had the heat on full blast again today, selected front defrost/foot.....and the a/c does kick in and the a/c drain is dripping.
I just want to know if this is normal....or there is something wrong with my sis's car....
anyways, thanks for the reply...

If it is set to defrost or defrost/floor the A/C will automatically come on. It does not matter what the temperature is set to the A/C will still do what it does best and remove moisture from the air.

</TD></TR></TABLE>NO.
Up thru 2002 the AC lamp would come on, & you could switch the AC off.
Our 2003 Accord DOES run the AC when you select defrost, the lamp doesn't come on, & there doesn't seem to be any way to turn it off. I don't like that "feature"!
