3 puck clutch is it good for everyday car
i bought a stage 2 exedy clutch for my built gsr and it was a 3 puck clutch i was told this was bad for everyday driving and that it doesn't last long, is a 6 puck better my friend told me that my clutch was for the track and not for the street
i just need to know if i bought the wrong one and how much should i sell the clutch plate for

I use a comp clutch pn#1620, I don't DD the car, but its rough in continual start and stops and it's a 6puck sprung hub design.
I also have a Omni Power Quick clutch master that I believe to be the root cause of the engagement probelms. I'd trade it for a new OEM.

exedy doesnt have "stages" but different levels of clutchs. their so called "stage 2" is a cermetallic 3 puck disc. it will only come is two different variation. thin and thick discs.
i used a thick 3puck sprung clutch from exedy intil just recently. worked great
i like my new CC 6puck sprung unit a lot better
the 3 puck feels like it grabbed harder but the 6 puck is better when DD light to light.

i totally agree. i had a CM stage 4 sprung hub 6 puck in my dc2 and it was a DD. my "track car" has a CM stage 5 6 puck unsprung hub and i do drive it on the street every now and again

i daily drive my car with the same clutch and its just fine. i pulled the tranny after about 10k miles and there was still a whole lot of clutch life left.
its a little tricky to get used to, but once you do, you'll be fine for daily driving.

a "pucked" clutch can shock the transmission's gears if you shift very hard and dump the clutch at high rpms. (i recommend preloading to prevent this shock from a stop) other than that you should be fine. like i said, i raced mine for quite some time and had no trans issues

what do you mean preload

using the hand brake to hold the car at the line and releasing the clutch until it grabs and then getting up to the launching rpm that you want.
pretty much "slipping" the clutch at the line.

I meant being driveable. A day to get used to it then its invisible. When it was still being sold, a lot of people complained about it for daily driving.
