Honda Pilot rear differential question
Not too many pilot posts here but I'll give it a shot. Can anyone tell me how to change the rear differential fluid on a 2007 pilot?
it's a pretty easy change. if you go onto hondapilot.org, in the maintenance section, there's a how to with pictures. ill tell you how to do it anyways though...jack up the car back AND front so the car is level off the ground.
1. remove the fill bolt first (with a 3/8" extension, located almost directly above the drain bolt (to make sure you can refill your fluid before you empty it out of the dif.).
2. remove the drain bolt (i believe it's also 3/8" extension) and let drain, then re install the drain bolt.
3. replenish your fluid (1 gallon genuine Honda VTM-4 is enough). Since the fill hole is at a weird angle, i use a turkey baster to get the fluid in there.
hope that helps.

nukem384,
Thanks for replying to my post. The howto thread on hondapilot.org is very helpful. I think I will change the diff fluid this weekend.

I get your point but the pilot doesn't have an actual differential. Just clearing up a misconception.
