Tranny noise.... Should I...?
Whenever I downshift i have this relentless noise not even whining, like if hell wass my car, the tranny would be the nashing of teeth part. tis not even grinding just an awful sound, and it also only happens when i decel. it also makes this sound when i make turns, then goes away. and while i was doing about thirty or so i felt something grab and it made the noise again. its def inside the tranny. Is it possible its the diff? the gears dont grind or bind when i shift, just make a whaling not even whining but whaling noise when i start to sync a downshift or decel in a gear. its acutally over heard thatn my exhaust. im just worried ill be cruising down the highway and have it flail apart and be stuck or wrecked. Should i replace it er throw a bunch of lucas in it and hope fer the best. also this thing has 220k on it. new clutch and fly wheel u can read my post about mpg to c the complete breakdown
Are you sure its the trans? Not the CV joints with the noises while turning?
It could very well be either one, but I would rule out CV's and axles before
you go spending bank on a tranny or a rebuild.....check your fluid first, and
go from there....make sure your boots aren't ripped up or anything.
