Default John Deere Industrial Strength Urethane

A friend of mine claims that John Deere makes a killer flat black that many people use to paint car wheels. I'd rather get my stock si's powder-coated but I'm not trying to spend 150-200 per wheel.

Anybody ever hear/use of this John Deere stuff?

no. I've always been a firm believer in "do it right or dont do it at all" now do you realize thats its actually quite a bit of work to paint your wheels correctly?

its a lot of prep work, its not really that hard either if you have some basic knowledge of painting. i have a DIY stickied in this forum, check it out. theres also a paint and body section on the main page.

as far as paint goes any paint will do, krylon, rust o leum etc. just keep the layers even and you should be fine.

If thats the price the very least they could do is lube you up and give you a reach around.

I searched google and only checked out one link

http://www.powderperfect.com/pricelist.asp

The pricing is $250-$350 per set of 4. Obviously you can search around.

these guys are in PA and charge $55 per wheel and do all the prep work
