when i had my DA many years ago(i did not have that much knowlegde back then), it had this distinctive smell that i didn't know what it was and didn't care. couple months later tranny went out.
fast forward:
now with my 92 civic it has the same smell as the DA. that's why i replaced the tranny fluid already. and it still has the same smell. the smell comes on whenever.(not everyday) stall at the red light, highway speed, normal street driving.
could this be a tranny bout to go bad? or clutch? i just got done with the radiator problem. now what?- my car just loves for me to spend money on it right now.
did i do the right thing? flushing out the fluid. what can i do to prevent a tranny from going bad? i've never had a clutch went out on me, so i don't know what it's like. should i go ahead and replace the clutch? i don't want to be stuck in the middle of nowhere. i don't want my car to die on me, so far it's been running like a champ.
please help me with this matter.
