Hello!

I recently purchased and installed new headlight assembly into my accord. This assembly had angel eyes which has 2 exposed wires coming from it

I slipped these two wires into the plug that corresponds to the daytime running lights, and forced the plug into the corresponding battery connector

As a result, the angel eyes were very dim. Nothing like what other people have posted online and whatnot. I noticed that when I use the high beam, the angel eyes then get brighter...As well, I also noticed that if I disconnect the DRL themselves and leave the angel eyes in, then the angel eyes are brighter and more noticeable

Am I doing something wrong here? or should I be wiring the angel eyes to another plug? Note that the assembly i have did not have a ballast or anything of the sort

What's the current draw on the DRL? What about the parking lights?

If it's not bright enough, you can remove the wires, and tap it into the parking lamps.
Doing so will also enable you to turn it on at night, while parked, and putting in a secondary switch will let you turn it off if you want.

I'd go off of the parkign lamp, just because you don't need it on during the day.

I haven't had time to go check out the parking lamp wiring...I believe my parking lamp is also my turn signal...which would mean I have to wire the angel eyes into the wire that corresponds with "constant on" ?

 

DRL are your high beams.

So when you have your high beams off it's a low current to the cathodes and you get a weak light. When you turn on the highs, they get full power and are brighter.

Wire them to something other than that (either either constant power or just the corner lights)
