How To Get Started?
I recently purchased my 92' lude last week and it has the h23A1 w/ auto tranny. Any suggestions on how to get started, as far as performance and looks go. It came with some Enkei wheels already, so I guess thats one less thing I have to buy.
By the way, I am not trying to sound like a newb, but I guess I have to start somewhere. I am a previous Nissan 240 guy, and now I'm turning to the Honda crowd. I am a auto/diesel mechanic, so turning wrenches won't be a problem.
-Thank you for your suggestions and help.

sell it and get a 5spd. unless you want an auto lude? which i've never understood. too many problems.
but if you're good with the auto, you need to sit down and plan out what you want to do with the car. i mean if you just want to add a few more ponies, and clean it up, and have it just be a nice looking car, then just go with basic bolt ons. intake, header exhaust. many threads on every single one of those, just use the red search button. many will say you only should buy one header ever. if you just want something with minimal gains, and that looks clean, you can go DC Sport or Megan Racing. or if you want to dump a grand into a header, go custom, there's a few great companys you can find right here on H-T. exhaust is preference. some new threads are coming up saying with the h22, a 3" makes the most power, but since you have a h23, i'd just get something that's 2.5", and looks and sounds good via your preferences. intakes are dime a dozen. many will say they're all the same, just a tube, and a filter. you can go cheap and buy a ebay cold air (cai) or short ram but just make sure it has a K&N filter. also read up on pros/cons of short ram vs cai (search).
then throw a banging suspension on her, like ground controls with neuspeeds.
did i miss anything guys?
clean her up i guess is what most do then. jdm 1 piece headlights, cf hood, etc etc. whatever you want to do from there is all up to you and what you want out of your car. just make sure you search on H-T and you can find tons of information. and make sure you're checking the archives.

Off topic to the OP, but sorry, it's only the 5th gen autos that have problems. 4th gens don't have any out of the norm problems. Seen some reach 300,000 miles on stock auto tranny..
Ok, thanks.
-By the way, I found out from a friend that I can put a V-Tec head on the existing H23A, but I will need the perfect parts to make it happen. So would that be the route I should take, or should I just convert the powertrain to a 5spd H22 w/ lsd? Can I get a swap for $1500?
-If so, where can I find a full swap kit?
-Thanks!
