Default Painted lip or not

It is always better to get this:

Because the lip is not painted. Compare to this:

Most average shops will try their best to be careful. But in the long run, a painted lip will be marked up when mounting on a tire.

True or false?

Therefore, would you advise NOT getting a wheel with a painted lip?

P.S. When the description said "Painted." Is it just painted or powdercoated?

FALSE

i've owned many sets of wheels in my time... it all depends on who mounts the tires on your wheels... i've NEVER had any of my "painted" lips or my polished lips scratched or scuffed during mounting. my sw388's for example were mint before and after new tires were mounted. so find someone competent enough to take their time on it.

How about my second question?

I'm not looking for a 100% always answer. "Painted" is the word used. Do I trust they use the right method to "paint" it?

I don't like painted or polished lips personally. I try to not to draw any extra attention.

if the paint is cheap and whoever mounts the tire isnt carefull its much easier to damage than a chromed/polished lip

i dont trust the shops thats y i mount my tires myself

i personally like the polished/machined lips due to them being extremely easy for me to repair them in case of some rash and/or some retard mounting them.
