Default Buying 98 ZX7R

Hey guys, my neighbor is selling his 98 zx7r for a pretty good price (2800). Ive been looking for a bike for a while and wasnt able to find anything in my price range till this. Yesterday i went to look at it and to take it for a ride. Right off the bat i noticed that the wheel doesnt turn as much as i would like it to but other than that it seemed comfortable for me. Does anyone own one or has owned one in the past that thinks this bike is no good in anyway? I have read somewhere that they get pretty hot in the summer time and tend to over heat a little. This is going to be my first street bike. Is this a decent beginner bike? or should i keep looking.

Had 2 friends that had them a while back and had tremoundous problems with the overheat issue on them. Of course i live in FL....

I rode one of them once and it just didn't really feel like you were riding a bike. Inputs and feel were not there and it just felt like i was numb and couldn't feel the road or the bike beneath me...hard to explain. Hope this helps.

Said to have one of the best front ends on any sportbike by many people. Heavier than a lot of supersports, but I think you like it.

I almost bought one, but found a 929rr instead

I love the way they look. It is the most stable bike I have ridden especially in sharp corners. The only thing that takes some time to get use to is the riding position but it seems as if you have not ridden much anyhow so that should not matter. It is a a big bike for a first bike but they are not as quick as more modern smaller bikes.

I was about to get one instead of the new bike that I got but didnt since the one I was looking at was too far and could not find anyone to to accompany me the same day the guy who was selling it got back to me.

Do you mind explaining? so i know what to look for when i go look at it again tomorrow?
The owner also said he has never had any problems with it since he first bought it in 98 (first owner). But he told me that the block was bored out a bit idk why. He said he did it a while back because he wanted some more torque in the lower rpm range. Idk if hes lying or what or even if thats a common thing to do to a bike motor.

if you want an honest opinion from the other side of the spectrum, pm "rainmanEK"

You get what you pay for. A nice F4i will cost you $4-5k. You can find nice F3's for 2500 all day long.
