pressing out hubs from front rotors
Instead of using the JC Whitney puller, my friend has a press, and I would like to know the optimal socket size to press the hub separate from the front rotor of my 94 EX Wagon. Thanks in advance.
the hub isn't press into the rotor... it's bolted to it
the hub is pressed into the bearing and you shouldn't be removing the hub from the bearing unless you plan to replace the bearing.
if you are replacing the rotors, unbolt the bearing from the knuckle and remove the bearing/rotor/hub assembly. If you cant get the bearing out of the knuckle it's probably rusted in there, just take the knuckle into a machine shop and have bearing pressed out. On re-assembly make sure you clean the knuckle good and grease where the bearing goes to help prevent them from rusting together again.
