Default Anyone Strollin' on HIDs?

I've heard that HIDs with a non projector housing is a bad idea.
Anyone rollin with HIDs on the 01-03 civics?
Any problems? Pictures? Retrofits maybe? Comments? Anything.

I use to have those ricer-core Halo Projectors and I got rid of them, buuuut I miss my HIDs.

Planning on gettin 6000K or 8000K in my stock housings.

Just need some feedback.

I have 6000k in my factory housing. They are pretty bright and have some glare. I'm saving up for a retro-fit , but want to do some more research and plan it out before I buy anything. Some may discourage you from using HIDs in your factory housing, but I won't. I haven't had any problems with them. I wouldn't go any higher than 6000k though, 8000k will be crazy blue, not in a good way IMO.

Good luck with everything.

i have 4300k bulbs and ballasts from an older TL in my stock housing with H4 adapters from hidexpert.com. honestly i have a decent cutoff, not too much glare, looks much better than stock and visibility is good, and nobody flashes me.

This is a 10k kit on OEM lights. There is light all over the place.

I hated it, I was always getting flashed. I'm running TYC black projectors with a 6k kit now. They are awesome. Very clean light output. There is no hot spots of light. I like them very much. I have got far more compliments with the after markets then the BOH's.

probably should've added that the company seems nice.
I pm'd the company plenty of times and they responded pretty quickly.

Aaaand the bi-xenon kit will work with our cars since it is compatable with both positive and ground switched vehicles.

Im running bmw hella projectors from an m5, 50watt boosted ballasts, and osram d2s 4300k bulbs. retrofit or casper shields (about to use shortly to allow ample time to do a clear lens swap) are the only safe way to do it. A halogen reflector is gonna blind the heck outa everyone and is gonna just have plain bad output. halogen projectors usually give horrible hotspots and no width, with the exception of audi h7's and the new mx-5 projectors made by stanly/kioto

anywho, enough talking, heres some shots

heres a shot of the color from about 40 feet away

heres a shot of the width from about 25 feet out. aim is a bit off (will be addressed shortly when i do my lense swap) but nothing to bad

those arent bixenons. theyre just plug and play HID kits. theres a HUGE difference between a HID kit and a true bixenon retrofit.

heres my old PnP kit from Umnitza. Theyre one of the best kits on the market PERIOD for any car and look at the difference between that and my bixenons(that were unadjusted)

The plug and play HID kits for under $100 are prolly gonna be really crappy in the stock head lights (designed for halogen bulbs). There will be hot spots of glare everywhere, pretty blinding. Like the other guys said, you can use those shields to help a little... but the ultimate solution would be an OEM retrofit (about a $200 job).

so the casper shield acts sort of like a projector? or does it just limit the light/directs it..?
anyone have it on their car??
