Working with a CNC and metallurgy guru/genious. I provide input re key/critical design elements.

Yes, that's the FI version at 240 grams without bolts.

Looks like a beefed up TRX bike piston with an aluminum rod. Nice pieces. But the real problem with the B is air flow.

Looks pretty good! I wonder how well aluminum rods hold up for street or road-racing use? I think the top fuel drag guys replace them every few seconds...
I remember reading something a while back about the aluminum rods help a bit with knock (or N20/-NO2 fuels) because the modulus is lower and the bearings don't get beat as hard with a "springy" rod.
Are these the same guys working on the aluminum roller-VTEC rocker setup?

I know you said that you had something special coming for my new road race
engine I hope this is a drawing of them

We've got a couple Aluminum alloys in mind. One is 50% stronger than 7075 series and the other is 100% stronger.
These alloys are already being used by some race teams.

Are you running a special set of oil control rings?
Also, you mentioned wieght reduction but you could not get the right performance and wieght reduction with a NiCrMoV alloy? Aluminum strength is tricky when it gets warm.

Not too concerned with high temp strength for the rod as the rod doesn't get nearly as hot as the piston.
For all out race we will skip using the 2nd ring.

will the rod have a limited life expectancy or given the proper running conditions will it be sutible for a daily driver as a steel rod?
Looks interesting, any peeks at the underside of the piston? Are these planned to be custom order only, as in built to spec?
Aside from further weight reduction, would having a gap in the ringland, just above the wrist pin lead to possible ring failure from vibration? I realize it isn't side-loaded in that direction, but just curious....

Wow thats light i would love to see an all motor rod if thats a FI rod. Are they still going to continue the I beam design or will you guys come up with a totally new style of beam.

Same guys doing the aluminum rockers? How are those coming?
