GSR block build help
Ok so ive got a type r head and gsr block i want to redo my bottom end and go bigger what is the difference really between the c5 and c1 block really trying to squeeze out alittle more power without completly blowing it up so my gsr block it at 81.5mm with eagle rods and wiesco 11.5:1 pistons so originally want to do a 85mm bore sleeve it and go 12.0:1 cp pistons with a cosmetic head gasket should i get a c5 block or stay with the c1 block and is that too agressive for a weekend car alot of people tell me to not go above 84mm for a street car what are you guys opinions alos what is the biggest bore you can do on the c1 and c5 without sleeving it i know its not much bigger than stock since the walls will be too thin and does ayone kno where to find ib spec IMs or anyones opinions on IMs????????????? thanks!
A bare gsr block and itr block are the same. If I were you I would sleeve the gsr block, use the stock gsr crank, forged rods and pistons, and balance the rotating assembly cause it will be a waste of money to buy another itr block and then rebuilding that from scratch. The itr crank and gsr crank are nearly identicle, in fact the gsr crank is lighter, itr is better balanced from the factory, but you should rebalance the rotating assemble when replacing the rods or pistons anyways so why even bother buying an itr block.
Biggest bore on stock sleeves would be 82mm

See above. Also, periods and puncuation are permitted. It makes it easier for us to understand what you are asking. But as he said, stick with the gsr block and sleeve it.

What is your budget and current mods? It sounds like you already have a decent motor to start with, maybe sleeving your block isn't your "next" step??
current is
aem cai
spark race header
jdm4.768 final drive
jun III cams
jun valve springs and retainers
skunk2 cam gears
eagle H beam rods
wiesco pistons at 11.5 and 81.5 bore
rc 310 injectors
exedy stage II clutch
and a jun light weight flywheel
Micro polished oem ITR crank
tuned on crome
ok so its kind of on a budget but not to go with cheap parts im not that dumb to do that its either starrt with the block and work on that or port the head to get better numbers its at 210WHP and 143lbstq but you kno how theres always room to go for more my goal is to get about 250whp safely and about sleeveing the block say i wanted to bore it to 85mm what size sleeves would i need to look into everyone tells me im lacking the bottom end and my head should be fine i mean sooner or later its all gonna be done but that might take a while trying to figure out what to do first

Oh damn man, if you're already at 210 with a 4.7 then yeah, you need to go for more displacement. If you're looking for 250, I would do at least a 89x85 or just slang everything you have and go K series. A good customer of mine has a 87x85 with 11:5~ compression, Portflow head, SMSP B19 header, T1-R 2.5 exhaust and RM M24XX w/ RM SL valvetrain. Blowing through a muffler and high-flow cat made 243 corrected whp.
If the 240 range is adequate, look me up
Or we could just get silly and aim for 260+

Ya if gonna look its goin to the 85 mm bore but what do I look for sleev wise size and everything should I stay at 11.5 compression or bump it up a bit or keep it 11.5 compression pistons and get a thinner cosmetic headgasket to bump up the compression what crank should I go with or stay with the oem itr crank
