Default 1990 accord lx manual tranny problem

can motor oil go into the transmission, or is there a special type of fluid?

Trust me, lol.

Honda MTF is all you need to use.

You *can* use regular motor oil but just stick with the MTF

94 and earlier used 5w30 motor oil in them from the factory. You can use Honda MTF with out a problem. If you really want to be good to it get some good 5w30 syn. motor oil. Its about the same price and will shift better.

I read synthetic will make the tranny slip, not good. Is that true?
