Default How to Make a Stripper Pole

If any of the pictures don't load, hit 'Refresh' on your browser. Our web server sucks ***.

So we were having a group of 25 or so local Corvette club owners come by the shop last Saturday for an open house. We had them by last year and already dyno'd most of their cars so we had to think of some sort of entertainment. It took us about 10 seconds to decide that we needed strippers, lots of them.

Step one -
Order an inordinate amount of strippers to come to the shop. Done.

Step two -
Design stripper pole. From the weekend before while doing my preemptive research up at a couple strip clubs in Wisconsin I noted that having a polished metallic pole is a must. It also must be sturdy and hold up to 125lbs flinging around on it with over 1G over force at times.

So I hopped onto McMaster.Com to find the items I needed. Searching the term 'stainless tube' I came up with the pole material that I needed. 2" OD High Polish Type 304L Stainless Steel Tubing w/ a 1.87" ID leaving a .065" wall, six feet long for $87.68. I also ordered up a 3' length of the same material as the pole was to be roughly 8.5' tall.

I already had 1 7/8" 16ga 304 Stainless Steel tube for some exhaust I recently made.

All I needed was a base and top. Searching 'stainless fitting' I found #45605K656 which would be perfect to slip the ends of the 2" OD stainless into. McMaster Carr has a place within 20 miles of me so I called the next morning and picked up the materials from will-call. Total of roughly $185.

Here's the sketch of the bases -

I press fit a 5" length of the 1 7/8" OD tube halfway into the 2" OD 3' long tube and welded the two together. I then pressed the 6' length of 2" OD tube over the 2.5" of the 1 7/8" tube that was sticking out of the 3' section and fully welded the tubes together and made sure to have enough weld to grind down to a smooth surface with no low spots.

I then cut the 9' section to length and welded 6"x6" plates onto the bases. Drilled four 1/2" holes on each plate 1" away from each corner. Took out the hammer drill and drilled holes for the concrete anchor studs. I slipped the top and bottom plates onto the pole and slipped the assembly into position and bolted down the base plate. We then leveled the pole and attached the upper plate into the ceiling with lag bolts.

Here's the results, sorry some of the pictures are blurry... too many Monster Energy Drinks -

We needed a rug so we bought this sweet *** one the day of the event. $130 but so worth it.

And one of the 7, yes seven strippers we had there on Saturday. This girl took a Makita like a champ.

Most poles have bearings at the top and bottom for spin action.

Hilarious. I never thought I would see someone design and engineer a stripper pole on HT. I thought there would be more pics of the ladies tho

If you clean the scale off of the mild steel it will weld real nice and not toast your gas lense.

Where are the stripper pics?

A ton. litterally 2000lbs+ of pictures. Iv been an enthusiast since 21. Then the sweet baby Jesus showed me the light

I wish I had some pics of my fireman pole I did. She wanted a 2 story setup like they have at deja vu. It was cool untill we had to sell the house. Best GF I've ever had. So much fun

If you can come up with a design where we don't have to tear up holes in the ceiling or the floor, I will buy it.

Probably NSFW but no nudity - http://www.didrace.com/gallery...9.jpg

The rest of the girls didn't want their pictures taken, little did they know we have 15 high resolution security cameras.

AWESOME! I've been grumbling about setting up a clandestine peeler operation at our shop for ages!

Hopefully your initiative in making it happen will be just the encouragement I need to get the rest of the gang on board. "Well OTHER shops are doing it now, so WTF?!"

Hehehe.
