Default Adjusting Koni Yellows (rear)

Hi all,

I have a quick question: how do you reach the top of the rear koni yellow shocks to adjust them? Do you have to remove a panel(s) in the trunk? The koni's are paired to Ground Controls; with the rear jacked up its difficult enough to reach the adjuster on the coilovers. Do I need to take the wheel off to adjust both the shocks and coilovers?

to adjust the shocks you just pop the two panels (one on each side) off and use the adjuster **** koni gave you.

Ahh..I knew those two panels were meant to do that.

Any tips on how to "safely" pop them off? Or do they come off relatively easily? Thanks for the response btw...I've been riding on the yellows with the fronts set at 1.5 turns (6/8?) and the rears set at softest LOL...

yeah you just take off the panels (they pry off pretty easy ..especially after you've taken them off a few times Lolz) and insert the adjuster **** and adjust it to your liking..

Take a flat tip screw driver and cover it with a rag, wedge it between the cover and plastic molding and remove.Once they are off I would leave them off until you figure out what setting you are going to keep on your shocks.

ouch that must be painful, I couldn't ride full stiff every day.

After I installed my shocks, I just left those panels off. I turn them to full soft everytime I have to drive a long distance on the interstate, and every now and then I play around w/ the settings, so I just left off those panels. They are sitting in my spare tire well if I ever want to put them back.

When I put mine on (On Neuspeed Sport springs) I turned all too full stiff. I made it about 3 miles, before I pulled over and changed them. I bruised both kidneys and compressed my spine from all the bumps.

My current setting, which I like a lot, is front 3/4 turn from soft, rear 1 turn from soft. I determined that there is about 1 3/4 total turns of adjustment.

Don't mind my ignorance, but I'm assuming you have to jack up the car to adjust the shocks (ex. adjusting coilover ride height), or can you just stop the car, pop off the panel, and adjust at will?

I used the STOCK JACK to adjust my coilovers last weekend ....needless to say I don't plan on doing that too often.

to adjust the Konis simply plop the **** onto the adjustor on top of the shock and turn... takes 60 seconds to adjust all 4 corners.

Driving full stiff everyday is likely to damage the shock. And with koni it in't that harsh.I use to drive my ITR with custom vavled Advance Designs and660fr/850r spring rates and it wasn't too bad.
