96-00 Civic Maintenance Question
Alright so I drive a 98 EX Coupe. I noticed that towards the bottom of the speedo, theres small lettering that says "Maintenance Required". There is a box next to it and it seems to have changed color. When I bought the car roughly 3 months ago, I thought it was green or maybe yellowish. Then last month it was orange but I didnt really notice it. Now I am positive that it is red.
I searched but couldnt find any information on this. What does this box relate to? Am I in trouble?
Anything helps
TIA

read your owners manual...it pretty much means you need to change your timing belt and other stuff like that...i cant remember off the top of my head...but once your done push in that little button thing with your key and it will turn back to the other color...
its pretty much just a light it will actually come on every 3k or 6k miles all you do to reset it is use your key and lightly push in the button beside it and it will reset to green
That box just changes color based upon your mileage since it was last pressed. You can use it as a reminder to do service to your vehicle.

The light that will come on if there is an actual problem is the Check Engine Light (CEL), which is a little orange light on the left in the cluster. You'll see that light switch on for a second when you first turn the car on, but you only have a problem if it stays on. If it ever comes on you can get the codes read for free at most autoparts stores, such as Autozone.
