i am looking to buy a tranny from a local guy and i dont know if it is a itr tranny or not i took the numbers off the tranny (S4C-1027487) the tranny is still bolted up to the motor so i cant see the inside of the tranny you know if it have the bar or not?
can somebody please help i search but didnt get anything thanks.

can you drive it? if you can drive it you can quickly tell if its a b16/itr tranny by looking at the speedo/rpm. did you notice the LSD painted on the casing? if not you can also either jack up the car and spin the wheels to check or you can look through the axle input to see if there is a bar blocking the hole.

 

no the car does not run if it is a itr tranny will both wheels spin in the same way? all so if there is a bar in there then that means that it is a itr tranny or at least is lsd right?

The method of checking the wheels spinning has been disproven. It is not an accurate way of verify the LSD etc. I believe checking the Diff is the best way to verfiy the LSD.

 

just look on the cassing, if it says LSD, it has lsd

If there is a bar in the whole, it is NOT an LSD.

so a s4c tranny is a b16a tranny
