Default 4th Generation Clutch Slave Cylinder

I am pretty sure my slave cylinder is bad. I have ZERO pressure in my clutch peddle. I wanted to replace it. I read the instructions in the helms but it does not give the best way to access. I have a few questions, if anyone cares to not flame me and help me out.

#1, What is the best way to access the slave cylinder, from above or below?

#2, Is their direct access or do I need to remove other things to get access to the slave cylinder?

#3, Any words of wisdom from those with a similar problem in the past?

Thanks for your help.

I swapped mine out with minimal difficulty. It cut the **** out of my hands, but I got it swapped out without removing anything, IIRC.

Did you go from the bottom or the top of your car?

I swapped mine from the top.

If you haven't already, you may want to make sure your master cylinder isn't leaking either. Check the carpet area around your clutch pedal to make sure there isn't clutch fluid.

I found that my slave cylinder went out a couple weeks ago. There was a build up of gunk on it and as I looked at it while someone else pressed the clutch pedal I could hear the leak. Just drain the clutch fluid, if any, from the bleeder valve, using a rubber tube leading to a container of some sort, and then unbolt it. Pretty simple.

I swapped mine from the top. The only thing I removed was the
cooling fan and that gave me plenty of room.

I had to move my entire radiator with fan out of the way . Be careful not to strip the soft aluminum threads on the block though . U also have to connect the line before you bolt the MS down or else you will spend all day trying to get it lined up .

It is recommended to replace both the master and slave, I just did them both 3 months ago. Make sure you bench bleed the master cylinder b4 you install it.
