I have a couple questions about wiring up my Hondata boost solenoid. The instructions say to wire it into the ECU using A11. According to this diagram (http://technet.ff-squad.com/wiring.obd1.htm), A11 is EGR and should be a red or orange/blue wire. My ECU (P72) has an empty slot at A11. Why is this?

Also, I have been looking for a diagram that shows which of the 5 male connectors in the under dash fuse box are switched 12v power sources. Can anyone show me a diagram, or tell me which ones are switched? Thanks.

1. Your ecu must have the egr components installed for the s300 solenoid control.
2. Your vehicle probably did not have egr wired from the factory. Simply add a pin at a11.
3. Use a multimeter to find a switched 12v source.

 

Would you please explain how I would add a pin? Also, I was reading more about the power source for the solenoid. Hondata says to get it from a 10A fuse. Would the 10A srs fuse be ok? I think that it would be fine, but I just want to make sure it won't cause the srs light to come on or any other problems. Thanks a lot.

 

Contact your hondata dealer for the pin which you bought the system from.
You may also use a pin from another obd1 ecu plug which is not being used.

 

Are these the correct pins? They were included with the solenoid, but they don't seem long enough to fit through the harness.

 

They look like them but I can't confirm 110%.

They fit inside of the obd1 ecu clip....

yeah, obviously you want to strip the wire, but yeah

it's simple. Use one of those connectors find A11 which 6th across on the A pin on the top. Since i didn't have the correct tool i carefully folded the ends down and crimped them. then to make sure, I soldered the clip to the wire. i will take a pic for you.

the last on the 5male connector is switched. it's the radio.

I have already used the fifth male connector for my wideband. Hondata recommends using one of the 10a fuses to get the power from. Do you think that that is necesary? If so, which one would you use?

Don't ever use power wires for the ecu to power something else. It is the wrong way to do it and will usually cause problems for you. It is much better to get switched power from the fuse box and run an inline fuse to protect the circuit.

im confused...what are you saying power wire? so you can't use one of the switched 12v male connectors on the fuse box?.....ABOVE the normal fuse panel? Maybe im not understanding what you are saying by "power wire". the green wire on my picture goes to A11 from the solenoid. I know to put a inline fuse on the line going to te fuse panel

Red=constant 12v
purple= ACC switched 12v
The only true 12v that doesn't lose power is the ignition wire on the back of the fuse box. The ACC, the only difference is it loses power when cranking, but it runs 12v the rest of the time. Im not sure why that would not be good enough when usign it for a boost solenoid. maybe it's just me
