does the auto transmission in my 91 have a kickdown cable or some sort of adjustment for downshifting? there are times im sure it should jump down into first but it dosent.

 

No yours is normal they rarely kick back down into first, dont know why.

 

my main reason for thinking this is my 91 4door auto ef used to jump to first alot more. im assuming they are identical trannies tho. im gonna be changing the atf and using honda atf in case it dosent have that now. (just picked up the car) could this help at all? thats all i ran in the last one.

 

Yeah, mine does maybe 60% of the time.
