2001 CBR600 f4i problem...need help.............................................. ...................
My brother's '01 f4i (5000+ miles) started bucking wildly at about 5k rpm for a few seconds. Then the bike stalled and the "FI" light went on. It did start back up, but kept bucking and stalling. What could be the problem?

Do you have a service manual for the bike? You should, if not, get one.
Use a jumper wire to jump the 2 outside connectors near the ecu (see manual so you dont mess anything up). The FI light should blink in a combination of short 1 second blinks (maybe .5 or 2 seconds) and long 5 second blinks. That will tell you what code it's sending. Who knows, it might just be bad gas too.
