im planning on doing a b18c1 swap in my 85 civic. my friend did a b16 swap in his 86 crx (same size engine bay as mine). the b16 barely fit and he had to make a dent in the framerail for alternator clearance. the intake manifold has about a half inch clearance with the firewall. i was wondering if the b18 is possible to even swap because it would seem to be larger than the b16. anyone have a clue? please let me know! thanks

there might be a little difference in the height, but other than that they should be the same
although the gsr mani might be a little larger
c1 in an 85 civic...now that would be a terror on the streets

 

The only difference between the 2 is deck height. The 1.8 is slightly taller.

 

hehe i was thinking of going undercover. LoL make it look bone stock on the outside. then juss dust the sheit outta everyone. LoL dat would be fun!

The B18c1 is taller, but its really really a small amount, and the difference at which it is taller is at the bottom not the top, so I'm pretty sure it doesn't stick up any more than a B16
