B16 block / GSR head / FI setup
Im having some trouble trying to figure out an answer on this. as you read above, is the setup I am thinking of going with. I currently have a b16a2 motor. I came across a gsr head, harness, TB and IM for 250$. I am doing some research and trying to figure out if it would be a good thing or a bad thing if i went with this head instead of the b16 head. I know the gsr head raises compression becuase of the smaller combustion chamber and flows better in mid range rpms. b16 flows better in higher rpms. I currently am running a turbonetics t3/t4 50trim turbo. My powerband is PRIMARILY 5500rpms to redline. Which is a pretty high range powerband. I am thinking with this head it would help me through my 3k-55k range and the turbo would pickup from there.
Any feedback is apreciated
Thanks

Either head should be fine. If I remember correctly a gsr head and b16 head flow pretty damn near the same in most places. I don't know where you got your info from but I wouldn't sweat it to much. Use what you got.
Oh, I read about the similarities in stock b16 and gsr head flow here.......

I hardly doubt that you will even feel a difference between the 2 heads.
The GSR may dyno higher numbers due to the higher C/R.
But if you use the stock GSR IM, I think you will get even lower numbers.

i think the OP is misunderstanding things, due to intake manifolds design and displacement the GSR has more bottom end power, due to small displacement the b16a has no bottom end power, it has nothing to do with the core cylinder head.
