Default Wheel Bearing Replacement

Im doing the wheel bearings on my 5th gen base model. I know they are press fit however how do you know how far to press it in ?

once u get the hub out ull see a snap ring take that out and press the old bearing out.
then when u press the new one in just under the groove for the snap ring. install the snap ring and press in the hub.

Basically, you press it in until it stops.

Also, when installing the hub, make sure you support the inner race on the backside of the bearing, or you'll press it right out.

I thought you actually needed to swap out the complete hub assembly........

Pls let me know where you plan on buying the bearings and would appreciate the bearings respective codes too (if front/rear are different), I need to replace the rear passenger side

On the front, the hub is separate from the bearing assembly. On the rear, the hub and bearing assembly are integral.

so on the rear there is no way to just replace one or the other, you must replace the hub along with the rear wheel bearing ?

Also how do you remove the rear hub ? Slide hammer ?

Yea it's one piece. Once the spindle nut and rotor are out, the hub/bearing should just come out.

Is there anything anyone used as a shim other than something im going to have to order ? This is when your pressing the new bearing in.
