Is there an easy way to do this?

I know I could just get out the hack saw, but I want it to look professionally done. Could someone give me some tips?

I'd rather do it myself then spend the money to have it done!

this was done by the owner himself....not sure how he did it.
I am pretty sure he just cut them out after putting the cames on the valve cover and making two arcs and then cuting the arcs out...or he just eyeballed it...

you got a couple of options, you can use a dremmel which is what most people do, or you can get a jigsaw with a metal brade.

 

I've tried both methods. I used a Dremel with a metal-cutting bit on my valve cover. It took forever, it was imprecise, and looked messy. I used a jigsaw with a metal-cutting blade on my brother's valve cover. It looked totally pro -- turned out beautifully. Before using the jigsaw, however, I had to cut the blades in half, so they wouldn't be long enough to cut up other parts of the valve cover.
