Hi,

I noticed today, the battery light turned on when I turned the AC on. I shut the AC off, and battery light turned off. At the beginning I thought it was because I have not driven for quite a long time(less than a month though)

I measured the voltage in the battery and it read 12.53 ing with engine off and 14.02 with the engine on , I measured again 1 hour after and it was reading 12.68 with engine on.

Something funny though is that the alternator belt has had some STICKY (really sticky) substance for a while..it is not oil, power steering or transmission fluid.... any idea?...I might be paraonoid but I sa some smoke out of the front of hood(driver side) while driving

Compressor kicks in and blows cold air....I noticed also that the pulley attached to the engine...wobbles a bit

Help please....any idea would be great..at least where should I look into?

PS : ectra information: some power steering fluid dripped on the alternator (bad hose) like 2 months ago ...I cleaned it as much as I could but some drops got inside...

load test your system and that will tell you where the fault is

 

how?..I am in Canada....no autozone here

 

any competent auto shop can do a load test......just pick a good one in your area
