Registering for autox events w. tire description
Seems like a big variable in autox (and road racing) times after driver and car is the tires. I think it would be a good idea to have autox registrations include the tires being run on. That way when one looks at the results there would be a better sense of how those times were derived.
I'm not suggesting any type of classing by tires, but I would sure be interested to know what people are running when I look at results.
If you like the idea, pass the word around.

In our SCCA Milwaukee Region and a mirror organization in the area we list the tire size on the results sheet.
I can sum it up for you.
Generaly speaking:
Hosiers come in first
Kumhos come in second
This information is provided for National Tour and Championship events but I have never seen it on a local scale.

then tell your local chapter of the SCCA or NASA. Our local registration forms have spots for tire manufacturer. Whether or not people fill them out is their business. At a local level, tire brand usually doesnt really matter like it does when you get 8-20 guys all VERY GOOD drivers together at a National or even Divsional event.
BS statement. Most people do not drive at the limits of there street tires on an Auto-x cross. They drive well beyond them. A tire is only as good as the driver that is making the inputs.
