Default Suspension ... how to?

A friend of mine has H&R Sport Springs along with Koni Sport Shocks (yellows) on his Type-R. He wanted to know how to lower the rear a little more, b/c right now my car is not sitting even. If you know how to do it, post the steps, thanx. He also wanted to know if doing this would have any serious effects on driveablity, but still please post how to do it.

Thanks,
Jon

Depends on what you want to do, you've got 2 choices

Choice 1
--------------
Beers required: 2
1) Drink beer
2) Slide under rear of car
3) Heat coils with torch and let them settle down some more
4) Drink beer

Choice 2
------------
Beer required: 6
1) Drink beer
2) Remove rear shock assembly
3) Drink beer
4) Remove spring
5) Drink beer
6) Cut spring
7) Drink beer
8) Put spring back on shock
9) Drink beer
10) put shock & spring back on car
11) Drink beer

Just put it on a lower perch in the rear.

With the Yellows, you might be able to get a spring compressor in there, while the shock is on the car, and adjust the perches that way. If not, you'l have to take the spring/shock out of the car, remove the spring, and then adjust the perches...

Oh, and Craig, I think you forgot a beer for taking off the wheel...

I would be nervous about using a spring compressor while trying to get the spring perch lowered on the car. I happen to like my fingers. I suggest taking the whole assembly off, and dissassembling properly. You'll still need the spring compressor.

I agree w/ warren. Do it right the 1st time, instead of wishing later you had done it right the first time
