H22 jdm - what is this contraption that looks like it's missing a plug?

You get a pretty orange light on your dash.
You should have a plug laying around somewhere close to the EGR that isn't plugged in. H23s have EGR also. You just aren't looking hard enough.

where should the plug be coming from, i searched and searched, give me a clue.
and is it a big deal that it's not plugged in?

my bulb burnt out on my cel so i didnt kno aobut this.

It should come off of the same harness as your thermostat plug. It T's off about three inches from where it plugs into the thermostat housing.

without tuning to exclude the use of the egr wouldn't it prevent the engine from running at full capacity ?

It's mainly for emissions purposes, it cools the combustion a bit but lets in spent exhaust gases so it can hurt performance. It won't keep the engine from performing at full capacity.

It won't keep the engine from performing at full capacity.</TD></TR></TABLE> Im completely aware of the negative effects the egr has on a performance engine , but to my understanding whenever you run a code the computer throws its self into protection mode correct me if im wrong but at that point the engine doesn't run the same as if it were without any cell issues.

You don't want to leave it unplugged or block it off unless you tune for it. Just getting will do more harm than good unless you tune it to compensate.
