hoosier DOT drag radial
has anyone had any experience with these? they look very well suited and the average tread width is greater then most of the other radials on the market compared like for like. im looking to go 255/50/16, i would like some MT's but i cant find them anywhere
Did you look at the pic you posted
Those are gonna hook just dont be looking to drive in the rain or get more then a few months out of your tires.

they are a DRAG radial, well if i have misread this then shame on me, but i have checked many other forums, the mustang guys love these and so do the RX7 boys, also found info that VW owners rate these very highly

wow if you are indeed correct i have two of those brand new as well. I have never used them because people at the track were saying that they are for road racing...bastards lied!
Hoosier makes a drag radial and a road racing tire with the same tread design. I own a set of the drag radials, they say drag radial on the side and have a soft sidewall.

Correct, and the Road Race/Autocross tires would say R6 or A6 on the sidewall (older ones are R3S04/R3S05 and A3S04/A3S05).

damn i guess i do have the road racing ones. they say R3S04. sucks that they made them the same tread design but with a different compound...

There are several different sidewall/tread constructions and applications that appear identical in photos. If you indeed bought "Drag Radials", then you have nothing to worry about. They will say "Drag Radials" on the sidewall, and be constructed specifically for drag racing.
I think you'll like them, mine hooked the same as my Hoosier 24x8 wrinkle-walll slicks, but they were much more stable at high speeds and didn't stick out the sides of my car like the slicks on Lenso 13's (I put the DR's on a set of Rota 16" Slips). They are night/day better than the BFG DR's, although you probably shouldn't drive them to the track like you can with the BFG DR's.
funny, i had a set of BFG's before i ordered these, and yea i used to drive to the track with the BFG's. BUT the car never comes out in the wet, so im still going to drive on the street with these............ i only do like 1000 miles a year any how, if thathere are the beasties
