With your budget, get some Function Form Type IIs from one of the vendors on here. Last I checked, you could get those for $650 shipped.

I think the gc by themselves are like 340 and the koni yellows are like 425. That might be breaking your budget a tad so you could always opt for some kyb shocks instead to lower the price and still have a decent setup.

[freak] KYBs. I've seen too many of those blown. If you're going to get Ground Controls, pony up the extra money for the Koni shocks.

Konis have a lifetime warranty. You can't beat that.

Ground Control coilovers for Konis are $315 shipped to your door from "vtecvoodoo" on here and Koni shocks are $450 shipped from "PerformanceCloseout" on here.

Honestly, I've ridden on a lot of different setups, and Koni/GC is best for MY application as well as others. The other setup I had that I enjoyed were KSports. The F&F Type IIs are supposed to be really great though.

What kind of driving do you plan on doing with you car? If you're just using it strictly as a daily driver, your needs will be different than something you'll be using occasionally at the track.

Something else to consider, what one person likes for their setup may not feel the same to you. Also consider, do you want a slammed look, or just something that will take the wallow out of you current setup...there are lots of things to consider if you want to spend you money wisely.

get a set of pro-kits from eibach and never look back. as long as you don`t drop it to the ground kyb shocks wont give you any probs. i ran kyb gr-2 and a pro-kit on my ef for over 4 years with the same set of tires.

If you already have 650 I will tell you save a little more money and get a full coil over setup that way you get a lifetime warranty on all the parts spring shock and pillow ball mount. skunk2 is 650 on ebay D2 is about 850 Nexx suspension 750 Tein 850 to 1000 just wait and do it right don't mix and match you will be happier with the end result.

KYB GR-2 and Ground Control coilovers

Daily driven for 4 years now - still riding like the first day. It's a little bouncy but nothing serious. You get what you pay for...

I have a set of Tein full coilvers on my ek hatch. The ride is better but the price was 3x that of the gr2 and GC setup. I have had GR2's and GC on 2 EG's now. - no complaints at all. You will have to trim off 2 small "tabs" on the struts to get the sleeves to fit perfect. Other than that there is nothing to it.

oh yeah - I think the total cost of this setup was 600-650. I got the struts form summit racing. Can't remember where I got the GC's. I'm sure there is a new set floating around Honda-Tech for uber cheap.

OK so I did some research and I want to get GC/konis for my car I see some offers and they talk about GC Non-limited version with koni yellows and top hats optional. Do I need the top hats for my EG? and what is the Non-limited version of GCs are those better?

For a DD, I would say just get lowering springs / shocks. Coilovers are hella nice, don't get me wrong. But do you really want to spend that much money when your car is just a DD? I would personally suggest looking into autocross and tracks if you want a full out setup. Otherwise, you won't use it to it's full potential. Just my $0.02.

And I spent just under $600 for my Tokico Illuminas and Eibach Sportlines (1.8/1.6) just an FYI.

cant go wrong with illuminas, plus they are cheaper, the limited edition means that the GC setup can be used with any strut other than a koni.

So Tokico Illuminas and Eibach Sportlines would be good/best for a DD?
