Default 05 EX Coupe - Hood Questions

I got into a minor accident yesterday, in which i rear ended a SUV (going about 15 mph). This has left my hood in a very unhappy and pathetic looking state. The hood is a bit smashed at the nose, which in turn caused the top of the hood (closest to the windshield) to pop up. The hood hinge on both sides are bent.

The hood closes no problem and I wanted to know if it is possible to just have the hinges replaced? I noticed that it looks as if the part where the hinge & hood meet may be welded. Can anyone confirm this for me?

I don’t know much about cars but I am on a serious budget and would like to avoid doing non-necessary work to the car.

Thanks in advance for any and all help.

from your description it seems like it would be just the hinges. but a picture would sure help.

I can do that when I get back home tonight. It would be fantastic if I only need to replace the hinges. Do you happen to know if this is a difficult task (i.e. I should have a pro do it)?

Thanks!

I wouldn’t say that I’m incredibly mechanically inclined, yet I can do the basics (i.e. change a tire, oil / filter change) and I recently was taught how to replace my front brakes (though, I wouldn’t go a change them on my own w/o supervision). For something like this, I would enlist the aid of someone a touch more handy than I.

And yes, I am blatantly ignoring the obvious sarcastic remark

I can be quite sharp when I want to be.

Yes, I’ll definitely post a photo of the damage that I caused. Thanks again for the input.
