So I just got my JDM headlamps and I'm wondering if you HAVE to take the bumper off in order to remove the lenses. If so, could someone just give a few tips as to how to get this done.

yes you must take front bumper off.

there are bolts in the engine bay, one on each side i believe.....also you must take the turn signals off and there are some holes down there as well.

fyi front bumper and bumper support come off as one.

if you search you should be able to find a diagram with pics of the locations of all the bolts.

 

^ This. Inside the engine bay (behind each headlight), there is a bolt that connects the bumper support & bumper to the frame. It took me forever to figure it out, but it's super easy.

Once you get those two bolts off, the whole thing just slides right out, then you just switch out the headlights.

 

The search comes up with absolutely nothing like it always does. . .

 

I found a diagram Google searching when I was doing it, but I don't remember where I found it. It's seriously super easy though, the bolts are basically right behind the headlights. One right next to the battery on the passenger side, the other is in the same place on the other side. (power steering pump, I think, maybe?)

 

You do know when you search you have to check the option to searched the archived content right? I can GARUNTEE this has been covered on this website before because I know its been covered on every prelude specific site.

 

I've got both of those bolts offf.... but its still isn't coming off.

 

come on a simple search will get you the correct answer.

You can download a copy of the honda service manual. It's EDM so it has both LHD or RHD. Here's the link and the prelude is towards the bottom
