ok so i put new piston rings and a new head gasket in my ls-v-tec turbo ek and when i turned the car back on it was smoking white smoke now is this normal or is my brand new rings bad.

now to be honest i didnt clean the pistons or re hone the block i just put the new piston rings in any help would help me

 

you have to hone it. the new rings have to seat.

 

did you/anyone inspected the cylinders?

 

white smoke is coolant correct me if im wrong.

 

yeah sounds more like something to do with the new headgasket...

not necessarily.

If the 'smoke' disappears, it's coolant. if it lingers, it's oil.

I've seen oil smoke many times that didn't have a blue tinge to it.
